Mentee Blog: Teresa

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am now finishing my most important semester online.

This is the semester before I start applying to graduate schools in the fall. Unfortunately we have had to transfer over to online instruction because of Covid 19. It has been almost a month since I started self isolating and it has given me plenty of time to reflect on how grateful I am to be a pathways client. Being a pathways client has given me a safe home and the peace of mind that I will not be kicked out if for some reason I wouldn’t be able to work during this pandemic. In my home I have a stable internet connection so that I may continue to work and finish my classes online. I am so blessed to have a strong team of people who care about me and take care of my mental, physical health. I am also so incredibly grateful to everyone who helps me maintain my car. If I didn’t have a car, I would have to travel through public transportation and risk more exposure when I need to go to the store or other places. I would like to sincerely say thank you so much to everyone who contributes to such an amazing program in any way. It has literally changed my life and saved me so many times. I probably wouldn’t be where I am today without this program. It still amazes me that this started with one girl, and it has impacted the lives of many, even outside the program. Stay safe.
