Raymond Cervantes

Raymond has been in the banking industry since 1996, he is currently Vice President and Branch Manager for Farmers & Merchants Bank in Long Beach.  Raymond earned a BA in History from CSULB, and he has devoted 20 years to his fraternity and is their longest serving National Council executive member for 10 years.  He is also an alumni of Leadership Long Beach.  Raymond joined the Pathways Board of Directors in 2019 and has served as the Board’s Treasurer since that time.

Lindsay Mais

Lindsay is a financial advisor with CBM Wealth Management at UBS Financial Services where she is a Certified Financial PlannerTM, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, Certified Exit Planning Advisor® and Corporate Stock Benefit Consultant. Lindsay is very active in improving life in and around the Long Beach area. She has been committed to Pathways to Independence since 2008 as a Friend of Pathways, helping to raise millions of dollars for the organization, and she joined the Pathways board in 2021. It is Lindsay’s personal philanthropic mission to do good, meaningful work and to specifically lift up women in all aspects of the community.

Sharon Dickson

Sharon Dickson is a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received a Master of Social Work at USC, in 1988 and has been in private practice for over 30 years in Santa Ana, Ca. Her specialty is working in the fields of addictions; alcohol, eating disorders, sex addiction and sexual trauma. Sharon has been with Pathways to Independence since 2004, primarily as a pro bono therapist, but also as a mentor. Sharon joined the board in 2020. “It is a great pleasure to be part of Pathways to Independence and to be a part of this wonderful organization that changes lives, one client at a time.”

Nikki Harris

Nikki Harris is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) certified EMDR. This is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms. She received a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. Nikki has been a Therapist, Therapist Coordinator and Board member for Pathways since 2014. “The support the program provides to the clients is nothing short of a dream for so many of our clients. It is an honor to be a board member of this organization.”

Joseph Dzida

Joe has been a practicing real estate and business attorney since 1979. He is now a grandfather, and in retirement from full time legal work. Joe joined the Pathways Board and the Pathways Property Management Committee in 2020, where he applies his experience and talent to the service of Pathways and its clients.

Jerry Green

Jerry is a retired CPA and business owner. He grew up in Long Beach and has been deeply involved in the development of the Long Beach community. He and his wife Jean have been long time supporters of Pathways to Independence. Jerry was Pathways’ Hall of Fame Honoree in 2018 and joined the Pathways Board of Directors in 2019. “I feel passionately. about Pathways’ mission. I want to help them continue the valuable tutoring and support they give to young women in need.”

Tracey Hutton

Tracey is a retired nurse who became interested in Pathways to Independence in 2001, when she attended the yearly fundraiser. “I realized what wonderful work they were doing, and that it was life changing.” Tracey has volunteered in many different capacities through the years, from Mentor to Director. She has served on the Pathways board since 2018. “I am grateful to have had a small part in transforming these women’s lives.

Janet Horenstein

Janet has worked in Los Angeles and internationally as an OB/GYN specializing in high-risk pregnancies and training. She has been working as a consultant at Riverside University Health Systems and Los Angeles since 2018. Janet became a mentor and a member of Pathways Board of Directors in 2020. “I am honored to be on the board of Pathways to Independence. The clients are some of the most motivated women I have known. Observing their maturation and ability to go above and beyond is incredible. I am excited to add to their success.”

Sarah Nguyen

Sarah is a Pathways client alumni. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from Cal State Dominguez Hills and is now pursuing a master’s degree in library sciences and information technology. Since Sarah graduated from Pathways, she has dedicated her life to working with the community and working for non-profit organizations. She specializes in community outreach and funding. “I look forward to positively impacting the women in the program and helping in their growth.”. Sarah joined the Pathways board in 2021.

Diana Hill

Diana has focused her career on real estate, education, and investing. She owned and operated a national seminar firm for 18 years and is now a Director of Education for Online Trading Academy.  Diana has been a community leader for over 25 years in Los Alamitos and the greater Orange County area.  She is currently a governing member of the Los Alamitos School District. Diana has been associated with Pathways as a mentor, director, and board member since 2007.  “I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who have a desire to grow but are lacking support, encouragement, and education.”

Anita Beltran -Sutt

Anita Beltran-Sutt is an Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager for US Bank in Rancho Palos Verdes.  She has been in the banking industry for 35 years and has developed and mentored others throughout her career.  Anita has supported Pathways to Independence for several years and joined the board in 2020.  “I’m honored to be part of the Pathways to Independence Board to help in the lives of these young women and be part of the change.”

Lisa Fluke

Lisa Ann Fluke is a retired legal secretary of 30 years. She has been a volunteer with Pathways to Independence for over 15 years serving as a mentor, director, and board member. She currently serves as the Education Director in addition to her responsibilities as a member of the board. Her greatest joy is collaborating with the clients and their Teams, in the planning of their academic plans, so that each client can succeed in reaching their education goals.

Michelle Matthews

Michelle is an alumni of Pathways who graduated from CSULB with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2018. She has worked in the recovery industry as a Program Director since that time. While pursuing her education, Michelle worked as an intern with people in recovery from various addictions as well as with incarcerated youth. As such, she has been a force for good in our community, and we welcomed her back to Pathways as a member of the Board of Directors in 2021.
